A life-changing lesson I learned

I quit my job a few months ago. It was my first job and might be the last one as well, after realizing I am not the one who can fit in a 10 to 5 job schedule. Once I left my job, I got to witness many possibilities and opportunities that I was lacking while working 10 to 5.

I had been working in the same company for more than three years and I thought I was doing a good job. Being present in the office at exactly 10 am and getting off from the office after 5 pm was the only thing going on in my day-to-day life. No special events or no outings with friends for three years, I was a boring guy with a 10 to 5 job. I haven’t had a happy memorable moment rather than just the business hours and the loneliness that I had when I reach home.

When I left my job I got a lot of free time to explore and rethink my life by stepping one step back. That was a life-changing moment for me because firstly I never thought I would ever be able to quit my job in search of what I was really passionate about. And secondly, I felt so alive and full of energy. So what now? How am I going to earn money to sustain myself? The questions arise in my mind, then I started to think of what I was passionate about. I was not being able to find anything that interest me, so I decided to go on a trip to freshen my mind and think more peacefully about my future.

As I had a bike since I was a teenager, and always wanted to travel around my country on the bike. I went out on the journey with my bike and my handy camera. While I was traveling I came to find out that I have a really great interest in clicking the picture of nature and its beauty. So, I decided to try photography as my source of income, but there was a major problem and that was I didn’t have a lot of money to buy a fancy camera with better resolution for quality image.

No matter the low quality of my camera, I started to click pictures of nature and also joined a crash course for photography. After the completion of my course, I got enough knowledge to be a better photographer. I bought a cheap and best camera for myself in order to start my journey towards photography. And here I am earning six figures after a year of quitting my job and pursuing my passion. Keeping the money aside, I am far more happy and alive to be working for my passion.

If I didn’t have the guts to leave my job and pursue my passion, I might have been stuck in the same job and might never be able to see the better life that I am experiencing now.

“So in life whenever it feels like you are stuck at a point or are unhappy with your job or any situation. Just pause where you are and take a step back then think of every possible outcome that might occur if you do what you actually want. Then just prepare yourself mentally and pursue without thinking about what others or society will say. At the end of the day, If you are not happy with yourself no one can make you happy. We are the only ones who don’t leave our side when the hard times come. And the last words, You are never old enough to pursue your passion and dream. Be the best version of yourself that you were searching for for a long time.”
